LEGAL EXPERIENCE

Ayhan M Menekshe

Born in Salisbury, Maryland and reared in Istanbul, Turkey, Mr. Menekshe was one of 285 students accepted to the University of Ankara, Faculty of Law in Ankara, Turkey, at the age of 15. After graduating at the age of 18, Mr. Menekshe went on to enroll in a six year doctorate degree program.

Mr. Menekshe became an associate professor of law and taught classes in civil procedure, commercial law, marine and air transportation law, insurance law, and intellectual property. He published 13 books and numerous articles on subjects including liquidation of banks and insurance companies, protection and indemnity clubs in marine transportation, insurance law and civil procedure. Mr. Menekshe served as a member of the Banking and Commercial Law Institute as well as the Association of Insurance Law (AIDA). He also managed the Institute's publication house and worked as a member of the editorial board of the Insurance Law Journal.

Mr. Menekshe returned to the United States in 1986 and became a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law for two years. He then enrolled and graduated from Golden Gate University, School of law in San Francisco.  In addition, Mr. Menekshe completed course work at The Cotchett Trial Advocacy Center at the University of California Hastings College of the Law.

Mr. Menekshe thereafter gained legal experience by working for several large law firms practicing in the fields of corporate law, asbestos litigation, real estate, and general litigation. He started working for a multi-state insurance defense firm in 1999 and subsequently managed the firm's San Jose office. Mr. Menekshe handled a large case load involving a wide array of personal injury, general and commercial liability, premises liability, insurance subrogation, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and construction defect claims. Mr. Menekshe has handled every phase of litigation including numerous mediations, arbitrations and trials.

In 2006 Mr. Menekshe established the Menekshe Law Firm, where he focused on cases involving personal injury, general and commercial liability, premises liability, construction defect, as well as mortgage fraud claims.

In 2008, Mr. Menekshe became a founding member of Menekshe, Cardwell & Ruiz.
