Mr. Menekshe was born in Salisbury, Maryland. His father was a medical doctor at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his mother was an attorney from Turkey. After 19 years on the east coast of the United States, the Menekshe Family moved back to Istanbul when Mr. Menekshe was less than 5. As a result, Mr. Menekshe was reared in Turkey. At the age of 15, Mr. Menekshe was one of 285 students out of over 3 million applicants who took the qualifying exam to be accepted to the University of Ankara, Faculty of Law in Ankara, Turkey. He was one of the 13 students from his class that graduated in 1980. After graduating at the age of 18, Mr. Menekshe took written and oral examinations to become an assistant professor in the Faculty of Law in the University of Ankara. Mr. Menekshe was then given permission by the Faculty Senate’s special decision to complete a Master’s degree on an accelerated time basis. Subsequently, he completed 3 separate Master’s programs in his law school and wrote three different theses as part of these programs in less than the regular time that would be necessary for one thesis. He also entered in a legal study contest wherein he was awarded the highest award on his study on “Gradual Liquidation of Banks, Insurance Companies and other joint Stock Corporations” which was then published as a book and which continues to be referenced in legal studies. Mr. Menekshe then went on to enroll in a six year doctorate degree program. He completed his doctorate degree in law in 1986 after passing the written examination and oral examination in front of a 9 member faculty panel of specific chairs of each legal discipline. On every discipline, Mr. Menekshe obtained the highest degrees obtained until that time from the first initiation of the doctorate program in that University’s law school. He completed his doctoral thesis on Protection and Indemnity Clubs in Marine Transportation and Insurance Law.

Mr. Menekshe then became an associate professor of law and taught classes in civil procedure, commercial law, marine and air transportation law, insurance law and intellectual property. He published 13 books and numerous articles on subjects including liquidation of banks and insurance companies, protection and indemnity clubs in marine transportation, insurance law and civil procedure. Mr. Menekshe served as a member of the Banking and Commercial Law Institute as well as the Association of Insurance Law (AIDA). He also managed the Institute's publication house and worked as a member of the editorial board of the Insurance Law Journal and Journal of Banking and Commercial Law.

Mr. Menekshe returned to the United States and became a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law for two years. He then enrolled and graduated from Golden Gate University, School of law in San Francisco. In addition, Mr. Menekshe completed course work at The Cotchett Trial Advocacy Center at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Mr. Menekshe taught classes in law and tutored students including out-of-state attorneys for the California Bar Examination for multiple years.

Mr. Menekshe thereafter gained legal experience by working for several large law firms in California practicing in the fields of corporate law, asbestos litigation, real estate law, and general litigation. He started working for a multi-state insurance defense firm in 1999 and subsequently managed the firm's San Jose office. Mr. Menekshe handled a large case load involving a wide array of personal injury, general and commercial liability, premises liability, construction defect claims, insurance subrogation and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Mr. Menekshe has handled every phase of litigation including numerous mediations, arbitrations and trials.

In 2006 Mr. Menekshe established the Menekshe Law Firm, where he focuses on cases involving personal injury, general and commercial liability, premises liability, construction defect, as well as mortgage fraud claims.
