Steven Ferla has been a practicing civil litigator in Northern California for the last six years. He is well experienced in personal injury, construction defect, premises liability, contracts, evictions, easement disputes, inverse condemnation, labor code violations, and employment law cases. This has been from both the plaintiff and the defense sides. He has strong experience in motion practice, having initiated and opposed significant law and motion filings.

Mr. Ferla is the current Legal Chair for the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club and is very familiar with the Forest Practice Act, which governs logging in California, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Most of his work in this area has been pro bono as he has advised various non-profit groups on issues such as the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and California statutes such as CEQA, the Forest Practice Act, and the associated Forest Practice Rules.

Besides practicing law, Mr. Ferla has taught tutorials in Civil Procedure and Real Property as part of the academic support program at Lincoln Law School of San Jose.

He joined the Menekshe Law Firm on July 26, 2011.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Ferla was a synthetic organic chemist for many years in the pharmaceutical industry trying to develop new drugs.
